The road
Around Colombo on the E03/E02 and down the Southern Expressway (E01), then a short run to the coast road. Tolls are included.
Worth stopping
- Stilt fishermen around Koggala and Ahangama if you take the coast road for the last stretch (adds about 30 minutes).
Good to know
- Surfboards: choose the KDH minivan — boards fit inside.
- Mirissa is 10–15 minutes further; Ahangama and Midigama hotels are on the way.
- Season on the south coast: December to April.
